The results of civil services (main) examination, 2014, were declared Sunday night by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The personality test of successful candidates is likely to commence from April 27, the UPSC said.
The results have been declared pending the outcome of a review petition filed in the Supreme Court by the Centre seeking to review its recent verdict that scrapped reservation for the jat community, official sources said. However, there was no mention of the Supreme Court case in the press release issued late at night by the Commission.
A list carrying roll numbers of successful candidates have been put up on the UPSC’s website, www.upsc.gov.in.
The Supreme Court had on March 17 set aside the decision of the former UPA regime to include jats in central list of other backward classes (OBCs) to accord quota benefits to them following which, the Centre had moved the top court on April 1 seeking review of its decision. Thousands of students appeared in the prestigious civil services (main) examination held during December 14-20, 2014. The examination is conducted in three stages — preliminary, main and interview.
